“The final rally before we see the back of them,” student organizers posted on social media, promoting the gathering under the slogan “Victory Calling.”
The October 22 finale was also announced on Sunday evening during a rally in Nis by Belgrade School of Philosophy Professor Jovo Bakic, a candidate on the Student List.
Following the Nis event, the student movement announced a Monday rally in Leskovac, deliberately timed to coincide with the city’s Liberation Day.
Students in western Serbia are mobilizing massive marches to the capital, organizing three separate walking columns that will converge on Belgrade for the October 22 rally. The first column is scheduled to depart on October 18 from Gornji Milanovac, while the other two columns will set off on October 19 - one from Valjevo and the other from Sabac, the Beta news agency reported.
