BUA Foods Plc has unveiled its Bakers Pride Flour brand in Kano, attracting bakers, distributors and other stakeholders in the flour and baking industry.
The launch introduced a product the company said was designed to meet the everyday needs of Nigerian bakers by combining consistent quality, dependable performance and versatility across different baking applications.
According to BUA Foods, Bakers Pride Flour is built around three pillars: Smart Choice, Dependable Baking and More Possibilities.
The company said the flour was developed to support bakers in making commercially sensible choices while maintaining the quality of their finished products.
Its applications include gurasa, a popular flatbread in Northern Nigeria, conventional bread loaves and other baked products.
The company said the product’s versatility could enable bakers to diversify their offerings, serve more customers and grow their businesses.
Speaking at the launch, Managing Director of BUA Foods Plc, Engr. Ayodele Abioye, said the introduction of Bakers Pride reflected the company’s commitment to supporting bakers and serving as a reliable partner in their businesses.
“We are opening a new chapter of opportunity—for greater consistency, stronger productivity, better value, and even greater pride in every product that leaves the oven,” Abioye said.
He added that the flour was developed with an understanding of the realities of Nigerian bakers, promising reliable performance, consistent quality and confidence in every bake.
Also speaking, Adewunmi Desalu, General Manager, Brand and Corporate Communications at BUA Foods, said the product was designed with the practical and commercial demands of everyday baking in mind.
“Baking is both a skill and a business. Bakers need to consider the quality of their finished products alongside the commercial realities of running their businesses,” she said.
Desalu said the company hoped to establish Bakers Pride as a brand that bakers could confidently incorporate into their businesses for bread-making and other baking needs.
The General Manager, Sales at BUA Foods, Alim Liman, highlighted the role of distributors, wholesalers and retailers in ensuring the product’s availability and acceptance in the market.
“Our distributors, wholesalers and retailers are critical partners in our success. Introducing a new product is only the first step; ensuring that it reaches the right markets, remains available to customers and earns a place in their businesses requires a shared commitment,” Liman said.
He said BUA Foods would work with trade partners to expand distribution, improve market availability and create value across the supply chain.
The company said the launch forms part of its broader strategy to expand its product portfolio, respond to market needs and strengthen relationships with bakers and trade partners.
With its focus on versatility, consistency and commercial value, Bakers Pride Flour is being positioned as an additional option for bakers serving households and businesses across Nigeria.
