A Sydney mother and seven young children have escaped what could have been a deadly overnight attack after gunshots were fired into their Moorebank home moments after a car was set alight in the driveway.
Emergency services were called to Shoreline Rd at Moorebank about 2.30am on Sunday after reports of a fire.

When officers arrived, they found a car burning in the driveway of the home. Police were then told several shots had been fired into the house shortly after the blaze began.
Inside were a 32-year-old woman and seven children aged between three and 10. All escaped unhurt.
The attack is being treated as a brazen shooting and firebombing, with several unidentified males believed to have fled the scene in a white vehicle before police arrived.

In disturbing footage reportedly filmed during the attack, one of the masked assailants is seen holding a sign to the camera that read: “You want to be a man… Welcome to a mans world!”
A few hours later, about 4.30am, police found another car on fire on Rabaul Rd near Bankstown Airport.
Investigators are working to determine whether it is the same vehicle used in the Moorebank attack.

Police have established a crime scene and are continuing inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Anyone with information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
