HYDERABAD
Working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) K.T. Rama Rao demanded that action be taken against the Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO-Tahsildar) of Gajwel in Siddipet district for his alleged remarks asking some farmers who represented their problems to him on why they did not consume pesticide to end their life.
In a statement, Mr. Rama Rao said on Saturday that the MRO had insulted the farmers who went to meet him regarding an issue related to their lands. Stating that it was not acceptable, he sought to know how an officer in a responsible position could act so inhumanly against farmers. Instead of resolving their problem, the MRO had belittled the farmers.
When a farmer questioned the MRO how could he insult the farmers approaching him for resolution of a problem, the officer had reportedly replied curtly that he would respond only that way. Mr. Rama Rao demanded that the Chief Secretary look into the matter and take necessary action against the revenue officer.
