THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said bottled-water supplies remain sufficient nationwide, with manufacturers assuring the agency of stable prices as the country prepares for El Niño.
In a statement, DTI Secretary Cristina A. Roque said Philippine Spring Water Resources Inc. (PSWRI), maker of Nature’s Spring, has sufficient stocks and distribution capacity to meet demand without increasing prices.
The assurance followed Roque’s visit to the company’s Bulacan plant on Oct. 8, 2026, to inspect its production capacity, reserve stocks and delivery arrangements.
PSWRI operates manufacturing facilities across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, supported by a distribution network covering 200 locations nationwide. The company said it is extending production hours and maintaining reserve stocks among retail partners to prepare for higher seasonal demand.
“There is no need to panic buy or hoard—buy only what your household needs because there is enough supply,” Roque said, adding that other bottled-water manufacturers had also assured the DTI of adequate market supply.
The company is also building up inventories ahead of the dry period, taking advantage of its products’ 18-month shelf life to maintain reserves.
The DTI said it continues to coordinate with manufacturers to ensure uninterrupted distribution and monitor suggested retail prices as demand potentially rises during El Niño.
The agency’s inspection also covered water purification processes, quality testing and water extraction monitoring as part of efforts to protect consumers and maintain product standards. / KOC
