A reported surge in on-chain activity has analysts pointing to $2 as a near-term target, with some eyeing $7-$9 further out.
XRP has drawn renewed attention from traders after reports of a sharp rise in activity on the XRP Ledger. CryptoPotato reported that XRPL volume has "exploded," prompting speculation that XRP's price bottom may already be behind it. Cryptopolitan, publishing a day later, put a figure on the move, citing a 6,000% surge in XRPL transaction volume alongside expectations of a rally toward $2.
The XRP Ledger is the blockchain network underpinning the XRP token, used for payments, tokenized assets, and increasingly for stablecoin settlement. A spike in transaction volume on the ledger is typically read by analysts as a sign of growing network usage, which can precede or accompany renewed interest in the underlying token. It does not, by itself, confirm a change in price trend.
Both outlets frame the activity surge as the basis for near-term and longer-term price targets. The $2 level is described as the more immediate objective, representing a level XRP has traded above and below multiple times in recent market cycles. The $7-$9 range mentioned by CryptoPotato is framed as a longer-term outlook tied to broader bullish scenarios for the token, rather than an imminent target.
The question of whether XRP's bottom is in has circulated repeatedly throughout the token's trading history, particularly during periods of heightened volatility or regulatory uncertainty. XRP has spent years tied to litigation involving Ripple Labs and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, a case that has shaped sentiment around the token for much of its recent price history. Any resolution or shift in that legal backdrop tends to move alongside technical and on-chain narratives like the one now being discussed.
Analysts citing increased XRPL activity often point to it as evidence of fundamental demand returning to the network, separate from speculative price action on exchanges. However, transaction volume on a ledger can be influenced by multiple factors, including automated trading, arbitrage activity, or network testing, not solely by organic user adoption. Neither CryptoPotato nor Cryptopolitan detailed the specific drivers behind the reported volume increase.
The timing of the two reports, a day apart, suggests the volume surge was a developing story picked up by multiple crypto news desks as it unfolded. Readers should treat the $2 and $7-$9 figures as analyst commentary rather than confirmed price forecasts, since neither outlet attributed the targets to a verified on-chain model or official Ripple statement.
Market Impact
If the reported XRPL transaction volume increase proves sustained, it could reinforce bullish sentiment already present among XRP holders and traders. Elevated ledger activity is often cited by market participants as a leading indicator of renewed interest, which can influence short-term price momentum even without corresponding changes in macro conditions.
At the same time, price targets like $2 and the more ambitious $7-$9 range remain speculative until reflected in sustained trading volume on exchanges rather than ledger activity alone. Traders should watch whether increased on-chain usage translates into broader market participation, or whether it remains a contained technical development with limited impact on spot prices.
The reported surge in XRP Ledger activity has reignited debate over whether XRP has bottomed, but confirmation will likely depend on sustained price action rather than on-chain metrics alone.
Frequently Asked Questions
What caused the reported surge in XRPL transaction volume?
Neither CryptoPotato nor Cryptopolitan specified the exact cause of the reported increase in XRP Ledger transaction volume. It was described as a significant jump, with Cryptopolitan citing a 6,000% rise, but the underlying drivers were not detailed.
Does higher XRPL transaction volume guarantee XRP's price will rise?
No. Increased transaction activity on the XRP Ledger can reflect various factors, including trading, arbitrage, or network testing. It does not by itself guarantee a corresponding rise in XRP's market price.
What price levels are analysts discussing for XRP?
Reports mention $2 as a near-term target and a $7-$9 range as a longer-term outlook. These figures reflect analyst commentary cited in the reports, not confirmed forecasts or official price predictions.
Has XRP's price bottom been officially confirmed?
No official confirmation of a price bottom has been reported. The question is being raised by analysts in response to the on-chain activity surge, but it remains an open discussion rather than a settled conclusion.
