When it comes to collaborations, Marks & Spencer knows how to do it. From fashion collections with Sienna Miller and Alexa Chung to homeware designed by Kelly Hoppen, not to mention its partnership with Aries, the British retailer has proved it knows exactly how to get shoppers talking.
But while those collections had us refreshing our browsers and racing to the checkout, its latest collaboration might just be the most exciting yet.
Introducing Coco de Mer x M&S, a limited-edition lingerie collection that transforms the underwear drawer we’ve all relied on for decades into something altogether more luxurious. And yes, thankfully, it still comes with the accessible price tags we know and love from M&S.
Let’s be honest, most of us have a love story with M&S underwear. Whether it was your first proper bra fitting, stocking up on school bras, or discovering the iconic mix-and-match knicker offer, M&S has been there through every stage of life. It’s the dependable destination we return to time and time again for comfortable, well-fitting essentials.
Now, however, it’s turning up the glamour.
Created to celebrate 100 years of fashion at M&S and the 25th anniversary of British lingerie brand Coco de Mer, the new 24-piece collection combines Coco de Mer’s signature aesthetic with the fit expertise M&S is famous for. Think sumptuous satin, delicate lace, intricate embroidery and silhouettes unlike anything we’ve seen from the retailer before. The collection spans four distinct ranges.
There’s Reverie, featuring striking Art Deco-inspired embroidery and emerald-green satin for those wanting something unapologetically glamorous. Belle offers a more romantic feel with eyelash lace and lustrous satin, while Enigma blends embroidery and metallic accents for modern boudoir-inspired elegance. Siren, meanwhile, features floral embroidery, rich midnight-blue hues and contemporary cut-out detailing.
What makes this collaboration particularly exciting is that it delivers luxury-looking lingerie without the luxury-brand price tag. Prices start at just £15 and top out at £55, with sizes ranging from 30-42 A-H and XS-XL, making the collection far more accessible than many premium lingerie labels.
Fronted by model Alva Claire, the campaign centres on confidence, self-expression and choosing lingerie because of how it makes you feel, rather than simply how it looks. It’s a message that feels refreshingly modern.
And while we’ll always have a soft spot for those trusty multipack knickers and everyday bras, there’s something undeniably appealing about bringing a little luxury into your daily routine.
Because if there’s one thing M&S understands, it’s that great underwear can make you feel like you’ve got your life together, even when everything else says otherwise.
The M&S x Coco de Mer collection launches online and in selected stores on October 15, and if previous M&S collaborations are anything to go by, don’t expect the best pieces to stay in stock for long.
