Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur acknowledged his team will have to clean up the penalties and control their emotions - they had 11 in their 23-13 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Four actually came on one drive against the defense in the fourth quarter, with one taking away an interception.
But that roughing the passer penalty called against Packers edge rusher Lukas Van Ness in the fourth quarter had many on social media baffled with the referees.
The Packers led 23-7 at the time and Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott looked for wide receiver Jonathan Mingo. Carrington Valentine stepped in front of Mingo and picked it off.
But the interception was negated after Van Ness was called for a late hit on Prescott.

Replays showed Van Ness pushed Prescott with two hands after he released the ball, though it certainly didn't appear that it was done with any kind of force even if it knocked the Cowboys QB off his feet.
The Cowboys continued the drive but it ended on downs and the Packers kept their two-score lead.
Those on X had a lot to say about the officials on that call.
What a BRUTAL hit by Lucas Van Ness

Carrington Valentine replaced Brandon Cisse at boundary cornerback and immediately picked off Dak Prescott, but it's not going to matter because Lukas Van Ness was flagged for a phantom roughing the passer penalty.

💯 When you cross the line of “protecting the quarterback” and start corrupting the integrity of the game something is very wrong. https://t.co/GWOOyJtteI

Van Ness called for roughing, which seems weak even by today's standards.
