As a rule, Comic Con is best celebrated in some sort of cosplay or costume, which makes it the perfect venue for someone like Cynthia Erivo, who doesn’t believe in dressing down.
On Saturday night, the Oscar nominee made an appearance at the 2026 New York Comic Con (NYCC) at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, where she sat on a panel to discuss the forthcoming film adaptation of Children of Blood and Bone, the young adult fantasy novel by Tomi Adeyemi.

Cynthia Erivo arrives to the 2026 Comic Con in New York City on October 10.

Look 42 from the Proenza Schouler Fall/Winter 2026 ready-to-wear collection.
As she joined her costars Lashana Lynch, Amandla Stenberg, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Damson Idris, Thuso Mbedu, Tosin Cole, and Gina Prince-Bythewood, Erivo stole the show in a navy asymmetrical look styled by Jason Bolden and pulled from the Proenza Schouler Fall/Winter 2026 ready-to-wear collection.
Designed by creative director Rachel Scott, who also oversees her own brand, Diotima, the maxi dress was made out of a dark-blue fabric printed with a pattern of white flowers.

Erivo attended the convention to promote Children of Blood and Bone.
The material was stitched into tiers of folds that wrapped around Erivo’s body, and one sleeve, as well as the bottom hem, were both decorated with coils of tight fringe that outlined the design like spools of wire. The bottom of the skirt was also dotted with silver grommets in varying sizes.
To complement the color of her dress, Erivo wore a pair of glittery heels covered in midnight-blue crystals, and she accessorized her look with hammered-metal bracelets, statement rings, and stacks of silver earrings. Of course, she also sported her signature long acrylic nails in multicolored polishes with paisley-style designs.
Children of Blood and Bone is set to hit theaters on January 15, 2027. With so many months to go before its release, you can bet that Erivo will have plenty more winsome fashion moments along the way.
