Do you believe that tourism in Nagaland should be primarily owned and managed by local communities to ensure it remains sustainable? Give Reasons

Yes: • Absolutely! Local communities are what keep Nagaland’s culture and natural beauty alive. When tourism benefits local people, travelers get more authentic experiences, and local families get to earn a living from their own culture and traditions. • I have firm belief in North East communities. They are well behaved and cultured. Any system though needs monitoring. They should be given some control (may not be fully) to operate and bloom. If in long run there are many complaints, withdraw control.• Local can get jobs in their own states and boost their economy also.• Local communities bring about stability security for them as well as tourist• Local inhabitants can provide ethnic food which is good for health, Secondly it will traditional organic compounds and sustainable. It will attract foreigners and tourist which will give financial stability. Therefore it will be alternative sustainable venture.• Local people will be able to manage their own land at its very best.• Our community are mostly independent and they can render good service under a given Government guidelines.• Promotion of tourism blessings of the door shine for benefits of tourism blessings ia a great support example for the God Father of tourism.• The local people know their land and how it works, so best they look after it the way it is meant to be.• The natural biodiversity and surroundings will be better understood by the indigenous people. This autonomy would ensure greater cooperation for sustainable governance.• Yes, the local communities represent the original culture and knows the sustainability much more than the outsiders, Tourist/Visitors can feel a unique experience when treated and greeted by local communitiesNo: Other: • The Tourism industry should have both hands from the government and to the communities. For the tourists categories in various fields of their visit, there are some sectors which need intervention of government for national security concern. Nagaland being diverse in culture in order to be able to contribute equal representation of cultural heritage in roots needs an extraordinary guidance from the local communities. For the economy and revenue purposes some reasonable tourism sector must be given handed independent to local communities with provided training and awareness programme for deeper understanding of various categories of visit by the tourist. There are sections of employability and stability which could be provided by the Tourism sector for the locals instead of just focusing on revenue baskets for the government locals should be given guidelines and independent to financial matters and schemes and support for the locals to upgrade institutions and better ground guides training. For me both are necessary in the interest of Nagaland for developing the Tourism sector as a systematic approach.• This should not even be a question actually! If this is a question, what's the point of having the Tourism Department? This question already shows the weakness of the Department.• Why is this even a question? How can we promote tourism without connectivity? We already have unemployment problem and why let someone else do it? Tourism has lots of potential in Nagaland next to Meghalaya especially in Northeast, India. The Government initiatives looks good only on paper, the reality is something else.• Tourism should be largely owned and managed by local communities because it helps generate local employment, preserve culture and protect the environment, and also ensure that tourism revenue benefits the people. However, the challenges such as a lack of funding, professional skills, poor management, and unequal distribution of profits may arise. So I think the government can help by providing financial assistance, training, infrastructure, marketing support, and clear regulations, while ensuring transparency, fair distribution of benefits, and environmental protection. This partnership can make tourism more sustainable and beneficial for everyone.• No one is asking or addressing the right question. How can we increase tourism in Nagaland? First build good roads. No point of tourist resorts and homestays when tourist can’t even get to the destination. Our biggest problem is road connectivity.
