A new daily catamaran service connecting the island of Brač with mainland Croatia is set to launch on 1 November 2026, significantly reducing travel time between Pučišća and Split.
The new route will connect Pučišća, Postira, Omiš and Split.
The service will be operated by the TROPIC catamaran, owned by Croatian shipping company Krilo Fast Ferries, also known as Kapetan Luka. The vessel has a capacity of 332 passengers.
Under the current timetable proposal, the catamaran will depart Pučišća daily at 6.15 am, travelling via Postira to Split. The journey to Split is expected to take approximately 70 minutes.
The return service is provisionally scheduled to depart Split at 4.15 pm. Omiš is expected to be served on Saturdays and Sundays.
The final sailing schedule is still being coordinated, and the proposed departure times may be subject to change.
The new connection is expected to make a considerable difference to passengers travelling between Pučišća and Split.
Until now, the journey by public transport has taken approximately two and a half hours. The direct catamaran connection is expected to reduce this to around one hour and 10 minutes, saving passengers approximately 80 minutes each way.
The shorter journey could improve access to Split for people travelling for work, education, healthcare and other everyday needs, while also providing another transport option for visitors exploring Brač.
The route will also connect Postira, another coastal settlement on Brač, with Omiš and Split on the mainland.
The new service was announced on Friday by Croatian MP Danica Baričević, who has been involved in efforts to establish the connection in recent months.
Further details, including the final timetable, are expected to be confirmed once arrangements for the service have been completed.
