ORONO, Maine (AP) — Kamden Sixkiller threw for a career-high 450 yards and three touchdowns and Cambell overwhelmed Maine 35-6 on Saturday.
Sixkiller completed 29 of 44 passes with an interception. He had TD passes of 53 yards to Jon Gullette, 28 yards to Brady Ambrose and 59 yards to Jyron Waiters. Ethan Lawrence and Gullette also had rushing touchdowns as Campbell, ranked 13th in the Football Championship Subdivision Stats Perform poll, piled up 562 yards, more than double Maine's 275.
The Camels (7-1, 4-0 Coastal Athletic Association) have their most wins in a season in their modern era, which started in 2008. Cambell was a junior college from 1925-50 and then the sport was dropped before joining the Pioneer Football League in 2008.
Kamden found Gullette over the middle for the opening touchdown. The Black Bears (1-7, 1-4) parlayed an interception into a short field and an 8-yard touchdown pass from Caden Drezek to Rashawn Marshall but the extra point was missed. Maine never got close to the end zone again before the game was out of reach.
Drezek was 21 of 40 for 212 yards but threw interceptions to end Maine's last two drives in the red zone.
