Kenyan musician Stivo Simple Boy has broken his silence on paternity doubts surrounding his son, revealing in a newly circulated interview that he went ahead and did a DNA test to settle the question once and for all.
The clip quickly gained traction online, partly because it marked the first time Stivo had spoken directly about claims that had been circulating among content creators in recent weeks.
Stivo Simple Boy explains his paternity suspicions
In the interview, Stivo acknowledged that doubts about his son's paternity had been weighing on him.
He said that while looking at the child, he noticed physical features that appeared to resemble his own, but admitted that appearances alone were not enough to put his mind at rest.
He described how people around him had fuelled his suspicions, noting that those who cheat often go to great lengths to conceal the truth.
Speaking in Sheng, Stivo said he decided to take things further rather than sit with unanswered questions.
"Uchunguzi sasa ni DNA," he said, confirming that a DNA test was the logical next step.
He also raised the scenario of what he would feel and do if results came back confirming the child was not his, including what consequences the other party should face.
The interview struck a raw nerve with viewers, given the emotional weight of a father publicly questioning whether his child is biologically his.
