As a follow-up to the article in September about a Linux patch for fixing under-reported AMD Zen 5 TLB sizes, that work is now merged for the Linux 7.4 kernel.
Beginning with Zen 5 Ryzen and EPYC processors, the TLB size reporting changed to multiples of 32 but the Linux kernel was never adapted for this difference. So this led to Translation Lookaside Buffer (TLB) sizes being under-reported by the Linux kernel until now on Zen 5 and newer.
This ensures the correct sizes are properly conveyed via /proc/cpuinfo and similar interfaces. This reporting fix was merged to Linux 7.4 via the x86/cpu pull.
Also on the AMD CPU side for Linux 7.4 are some SEV additions that landed. The RMPOPT optimization for SEV-protected confidential VMs is now in place to benefit lightly-loaded AMD EPYC Zen 6 servers. Additionally, there is the new sysfs interface for reporting AMD SEV status.
Those AMD Secure Encrypted Virtualization improvements landed via the x86/sev pull this week.
