Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, on 25 October 2026 met with Secretary-General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), John W.H. Denton, on the sidelines of the 9th World Investment Forum in Doha, Qatar, where they exchanged views on ASEAN’s economic priorities and explore opportunities to strengthen cooperation between ASEAN and ICC. Discussions also focused on ASEAN and ICC’s potential cooperation for the implementation of the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA), particularly in digital trade facilitation and international standards, as well as opportunities to enhance collaboration with the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) in advancing regional business connectivity, sustainability and inclusive economic growth.
