India’s agri business sector spans edible oils, packaged foods, rice, coffee, and sugar. Financial data for these 15 stocks shows clear gaps in share prices, valuations, quarterly profits, sales growth, and returns on capital employed (ROCE).
Marico has the highest ROCE in the table, and Gokul Agro also posts a strong return. Patanjali Foods and Gujarat Ambuja Exports show sharp profit growth, while several sugar companies are struggling. The numbers are a useful starting point for a closer look at each stock.
Marico
Marico’s current market price (CMP) is Rs. 781.40, with a market value of Rs. 1,01,597.97 crore. The price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio is 53.84, and the dividend yield is 0.51%. Quarterly net profit rose 25% to Rs. 652 crore, and sales grew 22.85% to Rs. 3,957 crore. Its ROCE of 47.05% is the highest of the 15 stocks mentioned here. Strong profit growth and capital returns stand out, though a P/E that high means the share price needs a careful look.
Tata Consumer Products
Tata Consumer trades at Rs. 965.40 with a market value of Rs. 95,545.46 crore. The P/E ratio is 57.94, and the dividend yield is 1.01%. Quarterly net profit climbed 27.78% to Rs. 427.19 crore, while sales rose 11.93% to Rs. 5,348.88 crore. ROCE is 9.24%. Profit and sales have both edged higher, but the rising P/E and modest ROCE deserve attention.
Patanjali Foods
Patanjali Foods has a CMP of Rs. 361.10 and a market value of Rs. 39,291.59 crore. The P/E ratio is 18.09, and the dividend yield is 1.37%. Quarterly net profit jumped 86.19% to Rs. 335.86 crore, and sales grew 29.33% to Rs. 11,337.45 crore. ROCE is 12.07%. Strong profit and sales growth make it worth a closer look, though future results have to back up the current valuation.
AWL Agri Business
AWL Agri Business trades at Rs. 182 and has a market value of Rs. 23,654.13 crore. The P/E ratio is 20.19, and the dividend yield is 0.53%. Quarterly net profit rose 48.15% to Rs. 351.39 crore, and sales increased 17.52% to Rs. 20,048.14 crore. ROCE is 18.28%. It pairs strong profit growth with the highest sales figure among the 15 stocks.
Balrampur Chini Mills
Balrampur Chini Mills has a CMP of Rs. 699.45 and a market value of Rs. 14,800.19 crore. The P/E ratio is 39.97 and the dividend yield is 0.51%. Quarterly net profit fell 14.39% to Rs. 44.15 crore, while sales rose 6.13% to Rs. 1,636.79 crore. ROCE is 9.27%. Sales growth didn’t translate into profit growth this quarter, so margins need close attention.
LT Foods
LT Foods trades at Rs. 408 with a market value of Rs. 14,167.94 crore. The P/E ratio is 22.11 and the dividend yield is 0.72%. Quarterly net profit rose 8.87% to Rs. 183.45 crore, while sales grew 27.92% to Rs. 3,151.83 crore. ROCE is 17.60%. Sales growth far outpaced profit growth, which puts cost control and margins in the spotlight.
CCL Products
CCL Products has a CMP of Rs. 977.35 and a market value of Rs. 13,050.36 crore. The P/E ratio is 28.28, and the dividend yield is 0.58%. Quarterly net profit rose 29% to Rs. 130.11 crore, though sales increased only 7.46% to Rs. 1,210.76 crore. ROCE is 15.85%. Since profit grew faster than sales, investors must study the company’s financials before making the decision.

Quarterly net profit surged 73.16% to Rs. 260.74 crore, but sales fell 5.59% to Rs. 1,495.86 crore. ROCE is 15.16%. The low P/E and strong profit growth may attract interest, though the sales decline needs a careful review.
Gujarat Ambuja Exports
Gujarat Ambuja Exports has a CMP of Rs. 169.25 and a market value of Rs. 7,762.99 crore. The P/E ratio is 18.49, and the dividend yield is 0.17%. Quarterly net profit shot up 171.87% to Rs. 176.77 crore, and sales rose 23.47% to Rs. 1,594.22 crore. ROCE is 12.46%. A sharp profit jump along with higher sales makes it one of the strongest quarterly performers in the table.
Gokul Agro Industries
Gokul Agro trades at Rs. 209.80 with a market value of Rs. 6,190.93 crore. The P/E ratio is 14.74, and no dividend yield is reported. Quarterly net profit rose 71.26% to Rs. 122.64 crore, while sales grew 7.26% to Rs. 5,281.95 crore. ROCE is 36.69%, the second-highest in the list. Triveni Engineering and Industries
Triveni Engineering and Industries has a CMP of Rs. 247.85 and a market value of Rs. 5,461.71 crore. The P/E ratio is 20.86 and the dividend yield is 1.12%. Quarterly net profit rose 155.14% to Rs. 3.65 crore, and sales increased 2.11% to Rs. 1,580.52 crore. ROCE is 9.02%. The sharp percentage rise comes off a tiny profit base, so the actual amount and future results matter more.
Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar
Bajaj Hindusthan trades at Rs. 20.08 with a market value of Rs. 4,800.45 crore. The P/E ratio is 37.04, and no dividend yield is reported. It posted a quarterly net loss of Rs. 184.76 crore, listed in the table as a 6.39% decline in net profit. Sales fell 9.81% to Rs. 1,125.97 crore, and ROCE is 3.11%. The loss, lower sales, and weak capital returns point to real financial challenges.
Shree Renuka Sugars
Shree Renuka Sugars has a CMP of Rs. 20.85 and a market value of Rs. 4,437.90 crore. The table gives no P/E ratio or dividend yield. The quarterly net loss was Rs. 251.50 crore, even though sales rose 5.47% to Rs. 2,120.20 crore. ROCE is -3.06%. Higher sales haven’t stopped a large loss, and the negative ROCE signals weak returns on capital.
Bannari Amman Sugars
Bannari Amman Sugars trades at Rs. 3,300 with a market value of Rs. 4,138.09 crore. The P/E ratio is 33.99 and the dividend yield is 0.38%. Quarterly net profit fell 171.61% to a loss of Rs. 10.92 crore. Sales dropped 58.81% to Rs. 172.45 crore, and ROCE is 8.75%. The steep declines in both sales and profit make the latest results a major concern.
Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries
Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries has a CMP of Rs. 464.70 and a market value of Rs. 3,761.23 crore. The P/E ratio is 18.29, and the dividend yield is 1.30%. Quarterly net profit fell 80.34% to Rs. 6.91 crore, and sales declined 9.85% to Rs. 848.19 crore. ROCE is 8.18%. Lower profit and sales point to weak recent performance, even with a P/E below several other stocks here.

What Investors Should Watch
Different companies show different strengths. Marico leads on ROCE, Gokul Agro also earns a high return on capital, and Gujarat Ambuja Exports has the strongest quarterly profit growth. Patanjali Foods and AWL Agri Business combine strong profit growth with higher sales. KRBL has the lowest P/E, but its sales decline deserves attention. Several sugar companies report losses or sharp drops in profit and sales.
These figures alone can’t suggest which stock offers the best return. Debt, cash flow, margins, past results, business risks, and the latest company reports all matter. A low P/E doesn’t always mean a stock is cheap, and a big jump in quarterly profit doesn’t promise future gains. Each company needs its own review before any investment decision.
