Mexico City Capitanes 2026-27 Season Guide

MEXICO · BASKETBALL

The Mexico City Capitanes, the NBA G League’s only team in Latin America, play their home opener on Sunday 8 November 2026 at 6:30 p.m. local time (7:30 p.m. Eastern) against the Texas Legends at Arena CDMX. The club has 24 home games through Saturday 27 March 2027, and tickets for the opener are on sale at Superboletos from MXN 79 (about US$4) to MXN 3,499 (about US$187) including fees.

For US readers, the draw is NBA-affiliated basketball in Mexico’s capital, because the Capitanes’ opponents are the G League affiliates of the Mavericks, Rockets, Suns, Lakers, Kings, Thunder and other NBA clubs. Games start between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. in Mexico City, which is 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern for most of the season.

This guide covers the full home schedule with US Eastern times, how to buy tickets, what they cost in US dollars, how to watch from the United States and what is still unconfirmed. All prices are converted at MXN 18.73 per US dollar, the market rate on 23 October 2026.

Capitanes Home Opener on Sunday 8 November

The Mexico City Capitanes open their 2026-27 season on Friday 6 November 2026 away at the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder’s affiliate, in the first game of the league’s Tip-Off Tournament. They return to Mexico City for Opening Night on Sunday 8 November at 6:30 p.m. central time against the Texas Legends, the Dallas Mavericks’ affiliate, and meet them again on Tuesday 10 November at 8:00 p.m.

Opening Night falls one day after the NBA’s regular-season game between the Denver Nuggets and the Indiana Pacers at the same arena on Saturday 7 November. Our NBA Mexico City Game guide covers that game, which has its own ticket listing and prices.

The season is the club’s tenth, and the team says it will announce anniversary celebrations and special activities through its official channels. The league’s own records show that Capitanes played their first G League season in 2021-22 entirely on the road and made their home debut in 2022-23.

Mexico City Capitanes Home Schedule With US Eastern Times

The Capitanes have 24 home games in Mexico City from Sunday 8 November 2026 to Saturday 27 March 2027, and the Superboletos listings give a start time for each one. Mexico City has used central standard time all year since Mexico ended daylight saving time in October 2022, so it is one hour behind US Eastern time until Sunday 14 March 2027 and two hours behind after the US clocks move forward that day.

The first seven home games belong to the Tip-Off Tournament, in which every team plays 14 games against teams in its region. Times below are Mexico City time with US Eastern time in brackets.

Twelve of the 24 games start at 8 p.m. local time, eight at 4 p.m. and four between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., based on the Superboletos listings. The club’s August announcement gives times for only four games, so the other start times need checking with the club before you travel.

How to Buy Tickets at Superboletos

Capitanes name Superboletos (superboletos.com) and the Arena CDMX box office as the places to buy tickets, and the box office is open every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time. Online orders are capped at eight tickets per game, and larger groups must contact the club’s group-sales team.

Superboletos lists all 24 home games as active with a sales start date of 21 July 2026, although the club’s 28 August announcement said details of single-game sales would follow later. On 23 October it showed about 8,900 seats still available for 8 November and between about 9,400 and 9,800 for each of the other 23 home games.

For Opening Night the all-in price, meaning the ticket plus service and facility fees, is listed by seat zone as follows. Prices differ by date, and the top zone’s ticket price before fees ranges from MXN 2,642 (about US$141) to MXN 3,082 (about US$165) across the 24 games.

• Front Row VIP: MXN 3,499 (about US$187)
• Cancha VIP: MXN 2,799 (about US$149)
• Cancha: MXN 1,399 (about US$75)
• Mesas VIP: MXN 999 (about US$53)
• Preferente Central: MXN 749 (about US$40)
• Platea and Preferente Cabecera: MXN 499 (about US$27)
• Platea Cabecera: MXN 349 (about US$19)
• Barrera Central: MXN 299 (about US$16)
• Preferente Fondo: MXN 249 (about US$13)
• Barrera Cabecera: MXN 200 (about US$11)
• Butaca: MXN 100 (about US$5)
• General: MXN 79 (about US$4)

Season passes cover all 24 home games and home playoff games, excluding the conference and league finals, and keep the same seat all season. At the general price they range from MXN 3,876 (about US$207) in Platea Cabecera to MXN 65,000 (about US$3,470) in Front Row, and the early-bird prices ended on 31 August 2026.

How to Watch From the United States

The NBA G League says its games air on ESPN networks, Amazon Prime Video, Samsung TV, the Roku Sports Channel, NBA TV, the NBA App and NBAGLeague.com, and that the 2026-27 broadcast schedule will be announced at a later date. As of 23 October we found no announcement of which Capitanes games will be shown in the United States or in Mexico this season.

The league says the schedule page at NBAGLeague.com shows where each game can be watched, so check it once the broadcast schedule is out. Because the schedule is not final, treat any stream listing you find before then as unconfirmed.

Eastern times in this guide assume the schedule holds, and the 8 p.m. weeknight games are 9 p.m. in New York and 6 p.m. in Los Angeles until 14 March 2027. Fans on the West Coast therefore face an early evening start, while East Coast fans see most games in prime time.

Season Format and the Winter Showcase

The league has 31 teams in 2026-27, and every team plays at least 50 games, made up of 14 in the Tip-Off Tournament and a 36-game regular season. The top eight teams in each conference reach the playoffs, and the NBA G League Finals begin the week of 5 April 2027.

The Tip-Off Tournament ends with a championship at the Winter Showcase, held at the Hyatt Regency Orlando and the Orlando Convention Center from 19 to 22 December 2026. Every team plays at least two games there, so the Capitanes will have games in Orlando.

On the road the Mexico City Capitanes visit US cities, starting in Oklahoma City on Friday 6 November. On Saturday 14 November they play the Laketown Squadron, the New Orleans Pelicans’ new affiliate, in its first home game at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner, Louisiana.

Getting to Arena CDMX

Arena CDMX is at Avenida de las Granjas 800 in the Santa Bárbara area of the Azcapotzalco borough, in northern Mexico City, and Capitanes say parking is free through gate E4 for their games. The team store on the first floor opens two hours before tip-off, closes one hour after the game and takes cash and cards.

The US State Department lists Mexico City at Level 2, exercise increased caution, because of crime, and advises extra care at night and outside frequented tourist areas. With twelve games starting at 8 p.m., arrange your ride back before you arrive.

What It Means for You

A Capitanes game is a low-cost sports night, since the Opening Night list starts at MXN 79 (about US$4) and the mid-range Preferente Central seats cost MXN 749 (about US$40) with fees. Visitors in Mexico City on the weekend of 7 and 8 November can see the NBA game on Saturday and the Capitanes on Sunday in the same arena, although the NBA game’s tickets are listed and priced separately.

Because Mexico City stays on central standard time, a 6:30 p.m. start on 8 November is 7:30 p.m. in New York and 4:30 p.m. in Los Angeles, and an 8:00 p.m. weeknight start is 9:00 p.m. Eastern or 6:00 p.m. Pacific. These gaps hold until 14 March 2027, when US clocks move forward and the Eastern gap grows to two hours.

What Is Not Known

The NBA G League has not published its 2026-27 broadcast schedule, and we found no broadcaster announcement for Capitanes home games in the United States or Mexico. The club’s August announcement said anniversary events and special activities would be announced later, and we found no list of them.

Start times for 20 of the 24 home games come only from the Superboletos listings and not from the club’s announcement, and the club has not confirmed them to us. The announcement names the Lakers series as 3 and 4 January, while Superboletos and La Crónica de Hoy list Tuesday 5 January, so check that date before you travel.

Superboletos shows the number of seats left per game but not by zone, and it also lists several zones at MXN 12 (about US$0.64) that look like hospitality or sponsor blocks, so we could not confirm that they can be bought. The club has not stated the arena’s seating capacity for G League games.

The club’s own FAQ page still lists the Clippers affiliate under its old Ontario name. Whether the Capitanes reach the Winter Showcase championship round, and who plays for them, depends on results and roster moves that have not happened yet.
