Fabian Hurzeler admitted Brighton were not good enough at the basics after being held to a 0-0 draw by Jablonec in the Conference League.
The Seagulls struggled to break down their opponents and were unable to find the cutting edge needed in the final third.
“We have to understand what it means to play in this cup,” Hurzeler said afterwards.
“We have to understand that we have to be brilliant at the basics, and we weren’t good at the basics today.
“A little bit [of] precision in the last action was missing and that’s something we have to improve.”
