New capabilities will sit within FE fundinfo’s unified, AI-powered Nexus platform, which connects data and workflows across the investment product lifecycle.
With the transition window for CCI scheduled to close on 8 June 2027, the UK CCI regime introduces a new product summary for in-scope products, covering risk and return, costs, performance and narrative content. These changes present a significant operational challenge for investment managers, particularly those managing large volumes of documents across multiple share classes. With no standardised template and new calculation requirements to navigate, firms must also contend with fragmented data and the challenge of evidencing how individual figures have been derived.
The Calculation Centre is part of the Nexus platform, and provides investment managers with transparency over UK CCI calculations, including visibility into every input, the underlying methodology and supporting evidence behind each figure. Alongside this, two new AI capabilities, Document Inspector and Narrative Generator, help teams check documents for issues and generate draft regulatory narratives using verified fund data.
How the new capabilities support UK CCI production:
- Calculation transparency: The new Calculation Centre module shows how each UK CCI figure is calculated, with downloadable data evidence and a methodology whitepaper to support review and audit. Calculations are carried out in-house, using an engine refined over 15 years of SRRI and SRI production, backed by a wider team of regulatory specialists.
- Identifying issues before publication: Document Inspector runs more than 150 automated checks, mapped to the FCA’s DISC rules, on every UK CCI product summary produced on Nexus for clients with the feature enabled, helping reviewers identify potential issues before publication. It shows what triggered a flag, the supporting data and where the issue appears in the document.
- Reducing the effort involved in narrative drafting: Narrative Generator uses verified fund data and existing published documents to generate a first draft of UK CCI narratives as part of the onboarding process, reducing the time required for key personnel to review and approve the final content.
By connecting calculations, AI drafting, validation, production, FCA filing and dissemination through the same data source in Nexus, FE fundinfo brings the UK CCI production process together in one connected workflow. This helps reduce manual hand-offs and gives teams greater visibility over what has been produced, how it has been derived and where it sits in the wider production process.
New AI capabilities are designed to help teams work more efficiently during document production, using automated checks to streamline manual review, rather than replace decision making. Sources remain traceable, while clients retain responsibility for reviewing and approving final documents.
Paul Poletti-Gadd, Head of Asset Management Products at FE fundinfo, said: “UK CCI is a good example of how regulatory change moves from policy into practice. Firms have spent time interpreting the requirements, but now they need to turn them into a repeatable production process at scale. For FE fundinfo, that means thinking beyond individual regulatory documents and building the infrastructure around them. Nexus is designed to connect those workflows and evolve as requirements change, with technology doing more of the heavy lifting while people remain responsible for the outcome.”
Keith Heaney, Manager, ESG Reporting & Disclosure Management at Baillie Gifford added: “[FE fundinfo’s] dedicated team brings deep regulatory, data and system expertise, working collaboratively to support the delivery of complex regulatory change, which is why we chose to work with them on our UK CCI programme. We’ve particularly valued the reliability of their data, their practical regulatory insight, and their willingness to work closely with us to achieve successful, deadline-driven outcomes.”
These developments are part of FE fundinfo’s wider Nexus approach to regulatory change: building a connected workflow that evolves as requirements do. The roadmap extends beyond UK CCI, with Document Inspector extending to EU PRIIPs KIDs and Calculation Centre intended to support further regulations over time, helping investment managers build on the same connected infrastructure as disclosure requirements continue to change.
