Live Christmas trees from North America will start shipping from Oregon and Canada in November. The shipments from Oregon are increasing from 7 to 25 containers, while those from Canada are decreasing from 41 to just 17. The ministry of Agricultural Development (Mida), send inspectors to North America to evaluate the cargo before it is sent out. This verification step is very important to certify that the product remains free of pests and diseases.
Mida reported that the exact number of trees for 2026 has not yet been officially confirmed, as the volume per container varies between 400 and 900 trees depending on the product’s dimensions. In the 2025 season, the country imported a total of 55,000 Christmas trees. Pricing typically spans from $30 to $150+ depending on the size and density. You can usually find the live pine trees for sale in front of major supermarkets across the country. The pine fragrance of the trees makes you think you are in North America except for the sweltering temperatures outside in Panama.
