Blue Mbombo is riding high after contributing to one of the most prestigious regional events on the African calendar. The South African media personality and entrepreneur helped produce the fashion showcase that formed part of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Summit opening ceremony in Durban, with 16 Heads of State in attendance.
Mbombo took to Instagram on Monday, 12 October 2026, to reflect on what she described as one of the proudest chapters of her professional life. Her duties stretched from selecting outfits in collaboration with Scalo to coordinating the models who took to the floor before some of the most powerful leaders on the continent.
In her own words, the experience went beyond logistics — it was a celebration of African creativity on a grand stage.
"From curating the outfits with Scalo to coordinating the models and bringing the vision to life, this was a proud moment of creativity, collaboration and African excellence," she wrote.
The showcase placed the work of Mbombo and her team directly in front of regional heads of government, giving the production a visibility that few fashion moments in South Africa can match.

Legal dispute with Thami Ndlala continues
Away from the excitement of the summit, Mbombo is still navigating a turbulent legal situation involving businessman Thami Ndlala. She previously opened a criminal case against Ndlala and secured an interim protection order after alleging death threats and intimidation.
Ndlala, through the Thami Ndlala Foundation, denied all allegations and indicated he would pursue the matter through proper legal channels. The foundation's statement also alleged that Mbombo had previously approached the organisation for financial assistance after reportedly facing housing difficulties following a dispute with her partner.
The matter escalated to the Johannesburg High Court, which on 3 October issued an urgent interim interdict ordering Mbombo to remove specific social media posts within 24 hours and barring her from publicly repeating unproven allegations of threats against Ndlala. Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed to TshisaLIVE that no arrests had been made in connection with the case. Both parties maintain their respective positions as the dispute works its way through legal processes.
