The Haslett football program gave its playoff hopes a big boost last week.
The Vikings improved to 3-5 with their 21-11 victory over Okemos in the Meridian Bowl. And that win over the Division 1 Wolves has Haslett heading into the final week of the regular season owning one of the final playoff spots in Division 4.
Haslett is one of three area teams with losing records in position to reach the playoffs entering Week 9. East Lansing remains in the hunt in Division 2 and Corunna (3-5) owns a playoff spot in Division 5.
Greater Lansing has 21 teams in position to make the playoffs. That includes Dansville, Lakewood and Maple Valley being in position to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2018.
