Voting in Bulgaria’s presidential and vice-presidential elections abroad is proceeding normally, with no reports of problems at polling stations so far. This was announced by Radi Naydenov, head of the Elections Working Group at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to him, just under 100 people voted in New Zealand, where the process went smoothly.
Asked about the organisation of the vote in the United Kingdom and Türkiye, where the number of polling stations is higher than at previous elections, Naydenov assured reporters that there had been no reports of irregularities so far. He urged Bulgarians living abroad to exercise their right to vote.
Boryana Stoynova, deputy head of the Elections Working Group, stressed that Bulgarian voters should carefully check polling station addresses before setting out to vote.
“Unlike in Bulgaria, where polling station addresses generally remain unchanged, abroad they often vary from one election to the next. This applies in particular to polling stations located outside diplomatic missions,” Stoynova explained.
She added that a dedicated section for the presidential election had been created on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, listing the addresses of all polling stations abroad, BTA and BGNES reported.
