A ultra-luxurious oceanside megamansion in Laguna Beach has sold for an eye-popping $82.6 million, marking the second-most expensive home sale in Orange County history.
The eight-bedroom, 15-bathroom estate at 100 Rockledge Road, which sits on bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, sold for $82,569,990 on October 14.
The 14,434-square-foot property features more than 2,000 square feet of oceanfront terraces, a private amphitheater and an ocean-view championship tennis court. It also boasts private steps leading directly to the beach below.
Other amenities include a private cinema, wine cellar, fitness studio, sauna, steam shower and rock waterfall. Additionally, a guest home on the property has two bedrooms with an ocean-view deck.
An eight-car garage with a “catering kitchen and private entrance” and a motor court that can accommodate more than 20 vehicles rounds out the sprawling estate.
“The primary retreat is unlike any other, featuring a rotating oversized bed beneath an operable ceiling that opens to the stars, a sculptural spiral staircase with a glass floor leading to a private library and panoramic ocean views that create the sensation of floating above the Pacific, immersed in endless blue horizons,” a desciption of the property reads.

David Wilson –– owner of Wilson Automotive Group –– bought the property in 2001 for around $16 million and spent nearly $20 million on renovations.
Wilson originally put the home up for sale at $112 million –– Orange County’s record is $110 million –– on July 24 before selling to an unknown buyer for $82.6 just two months later.
“This property isn’t in a gated community. It sits on its own large parcel, and it’s a really unique type of property,” the co-lister of the property Jill Lockhart said. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime property. People recognized that.”
