Most of us have a go-to routine for the night before our birthday. Kim Kardashian, however, decided to kick off her pre-birthday celebrations in true Internet-breaking fashion: by dressing up as her own daughter.
Taking to Instagram, the businesswoman posted a carousel of pictures transformed into her firstborn, North West, captioning the post ‘Halloween 2026 ♀️‘ - despite there still being 10 days to go until the holiday.
Over the years, 13-year-old North has made non-stop headlines for carving out a distinct, unapologetic sense of style heavily influenced by Japanese virtual pop star Hatsune Miku, alternative punk, and her father Kanye West’s avant garde aesthetic.
Aquamarine hair, XL decorated nails, dark grunge layers, and hand piercings have quickly become synonymous with her look, which is a far cry from the body-skimming wardrobe her mum has become known for.
Beyond her wardrobe, North has been stepping into the music industry with her debut EP project, N0rth4evr, and high-profile stage appearances. Her growing creative footprint has helped her amass a 2.6 million cult following on her Instagram account (which clearly notes in the bio that it is managed by her parents).
Because of her aesthetic, North’s look has occasionally drawn online flack and judgement from critics. However, North isn't fazed, addressing critics on a recent livestream alongside Kim. North shut down the commentary, stating, 'Stop saying I'm demonic. Don't judge a book by its cover.’
Kim has consistently backed her daughter's self-expression, previously sharing in interviews that she gives North creative freedom while keeping her grounded. Kim stepping out dressed as North – on the eve of her own birthday, no less than a maternal co-sign, showing total support for her daughter's individuality.
The Instagram post quickly went viral, racking up over 4.6 million likes and counting. It also received the seal of approval from thousands in the comment section. Kris Jenner commented, 'This is so fun!!!!! ', Khloé Kardashian added, 'Twins!!!!!!' (surpassing 200,000 likes), and even the GRAMMYs official account chimed in with, ‘Mom of the year.’
It’s officially the first major celebrity Halloween costume of the season, and many would say Kim has already won Halloween 2026. Kim Kardashian is certainly no stranger to making headlines with her style, and it’s clear that fearlessness has rubbed off on her daughter, too.
