Starting Monday, road traffic in the Grilo Tunnel, part of the IC-17 CRIL highway in the Lisbon district, will be restricted due to construction work, Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) announced this Friday.
The works will last 60 days, and during this period, it will be necessary to close roads between 10 PM and 6 AM, with traffic flow ensured by two lanes or, exceptionally, by one lane, CNN Portugal reports.
IP announced that the work is on the lighting system inside the tunnels and in the vicinity of the entrances to the Grilo Tunnel (which connects Olival Basto, Odivelas, to Camarate, in Loures), integrated into the IC17-CRIL (Lisbon Inner Regional Ring Road).
“Traffic will be ensured by two lanes per tunnel with a speed limit of 50 km/h; currently, the tunnel has four lanes per tunnel,” IP states.
According to the company, the work areas will be properly marked.
