SHAH ALAM: Singer Aisha Retno recently suffered a leg injury following a fall at home, but she remains optimistic about recovering in time for Puteri Gunung Ledang The Musical (PGLM).
Aisha—whose full name is Sharifah Aisha Retno Sayed Sipulizam—explained that while the injury is not severe, a busy schedule has hindered her recovery, leaving her with a limp.
"There is nothing seriously wrong with my leg. It might look serious when I walk, but I simply had a fall; perhaps because there hasn't been enough time to recover, the condition has become a bit more aggravated.
"But I am doing okay so far and am in good hands."
The singer reassured fans that the setback would not affect her involvement in the upcoming musical, as she still has time to heal.
She also clarified that the accident happened at home, rather than during rehearsals.
"It didn't happen during theatre rehearsals, though I did start to feel the pain while rehearsing. I fell at home a few days ago.
"As for PGLM, hopefully, everything goes smoothly—we still have two weeks for recovery. God willing, I will be ready in time," she said.
Meanwhile, Aisha expressed her gratitude after taking home the 'Hottest Viral Celebrity' award at AMT 2026.
Admitting the win came as a pleasant surprise, she described the honour as a true blessing that inspires her to keep pushing forward. "Thank God for this blessing. I will strive to do even better, and I can't wait to create more music."
