The Killarney Valley Classic & Vintage Club’s tractor show, held at the business park in Farranfore over the weekend, has been hailed a great success, with more than 60 tractors on display and a range of popular attractions drawing visitors for an enjoyable day out.
Organisers expressed their delight at the public turnout and extended their sincere thanks to everyone who attended and contributed donations on the day.
The generosity of those who supported the event will benefit three deserving local causes: Firies National School, Recovery Haven Kerry Cancer Support House and Killarney Valley AC. The club said it was proud to support the three organisations, each of which makes a valuable contribution to the local community.
Dyno testing proved to be one of the main attractions, with tractor owners bringing along a wide variety of machinery to be tested. The activity generated considerable interest throughout the day, giving spectators the opportunity to see tractors of different ages and types put through their paces.
The Digger Challenge was another major draw, attracting plenty of attention from the crowd. Participants demonstrated impressive skill and precision at the controls, providing an entertaining spectacle for those watching.
However, the tractors themselves remained the stars of the show. More than 60 machines, spanning several generations, were on display, showcasing the enduring appeal of classic, vintage and modern agricultural machinery.
Several of the vintage tractors attracted particular admiration, with some appearing even better than the day they first left the factory. Their immaculate condition reflected the considerable time, effort and dedication invested by their owners.
“Keeping these machines in such excellent condition is no small undertaking, and their owners deserve enormous credit for preserving an important part of our agricultural heritage,” the club said.
The club also expressed its sincere appreciation to all the businesses that supported the event. Special thanks were extended to the main sponsors: Tricel; Reens Rathmore Jeep and Fiat; SAMCO Agri Sales; C. Wharton Tool Hire Ltd.; The Warehouse Café; and Noel C. Duggan Structural Steel Ltd.
A further word of thanks was reserved for club members and volunteers, whose many hours of work behind the scenes and on the day itself helped ensure the show ran smoothly. Organising an event of this scale requires considerable planning, teamwork and commitment, and the club acknowledged that its success was a reflection of the dedication and hard work of everyone involved.
With a successful show completed and support raised for three worthwhile local causes, the Killarney Valley Classic & Vintage Club looks forward to welcoming exhibitors, visitors and supporters back again next year.
