In the clip, Sifuna was speaking during an interview with media personality Andrew Kibe, where the conversation turned to corruption and why public officials choose to steal despite earning decent salaries.

"My salary is KSh 1 million. I pay KSh 300,000 in taxes and remain with KSh 700,000. I pay my mortgage and the remaining I have a bit of fun," he said.
When Kibe asked whether Sifuna had a family, the senator confirmed he did, before making a broader point about ambition and greed.
"Why steal? Where will you take all that? That money is good — you get a mortgage and you can buy a house," he said.
He argued that a four-bedroom home is more than sufficient for any family and questioned the logic of chasing something far beyond what anyone actually needs.
"You have a house and your kids are in school. How much is enough? What will you do with a 12-bedroom house? It's too much," Sifuna said.
His argument was simple: if you earn a reasonable salary, pay your bills, keep your children in school and have a roof over your head, there is little justification for wanting more, let alone stealing to get it.
The video quickly caught the attention of Kenyans on social media, with many relating to his message about contentment and the dangers of comparison.
