A picture was posted online and the author indicated that Sidia Jatta was dosing. What is your response to this posting?
HALIFA SALLAH: The message is clear. The media house which apologized tried to drown the message but could not and now the same type of warrior journalists, who are on the wrong side of history, are trying to drown the message by pictures to caricature both of us.
History cannot permit such warrior journalists to succeed. Using the picture, they are trying to portrait two people who spent six months of consultation, sometimes lasting ten hours in day without taking any food or even a drop of water, just to mobilise a team that will be capable of handing Gambia back to her people and give the country a new start with clean hands, will certainly not have pot bellies and fleshy inflated jaws.
History has taught that those who it has absolved in the past and will continue to absolve in the present and the future, are who are ready to hunger and thirst in order eradicate hunger and thirst from the face of the earth. They are those who are ready to die for others to live. Those who are ready to caricature other people are those who take joy in living in pomp and privilege while their people die of hunger and thirst. Those whose faces are beaming with smile while their people are moaning and groaning in illness and poverty and continue their infamy while history continues to hold its trend to write in black and white their attempt to delay system change until 2031, so that change will be marked by walking on red carpet to the golden stool for the new king to be enthroned and another generation will emerge to dethrone him/her only to wait for another decade of self-perpetuating rule, instead of handing over Gambia to her people and giving the country a new start with clean hands.
We had made our choice forty years ago to work, day and night, until we succeed or visit the grave or look like walking skeletons without turning back, to do our utmost to hand over Gambia to the people and give the country a new start with clean hands. Our choice is irreversible, the justness of our course is incontrovertible and the inevitability of its success in our life or thereafter is invincible. This is the hallmark of our conviction to commit ourselves to serve and save country, regardless of the peril or the cost and forever commit ourselves to either succeed or die trying. That is why in our youthful days we nurtured our hearts, minds and will power with the following reminder: That if you cut my hands I will still hold on, if you cut my lips I will still speak out, if you cut my feet I will still march on, no turning back, no turning back.
Those who wish to kill Team Gambia Grand Coalition 2026 by focusing on the features of Halifa Sallah and Sidia Jatta are focusing on shadows. The reality buried at the back of the shadows reveals sacrificing comfort so that their people as a whole will live in comfort. A generation that is incapable of distinguishing those in the service and people and those who live at the expense at the helm is a lost generation that will always be condemned by the wretched of the earth. That is the verdict of history and it is incontrovertible.
I hope after the selection of the Team Gambia Grand Coalition 2026 and resting for two days Foroyaa will show pictures of Halifa Sallah and Sidia Jatta to the world. You will then become clear who are ready to sacrifice sweat and blood to save country and people and those who cannot because of unsatiable greed. The future will tell.
