One of The Ringer’s hosts has revealed how much he disliked LeBron James during the prime of his career.
LeBron James has started the new chapter of his NBA career with the Philadelphia 76ers on a perfect note as they are 2-0 to start the season.
At 41 years old, James may no longer be in the prime of his career, but he’s still playing an important role for the 76ers.
As a result, this has James haters in shambles, including The Ringer’s Raheem Palmer. Speaking of whom, Palmer recently shared a story of how much he dislikes the King.
Raheem Palmer skipped his graduation to watch LeBron James lose during the 2008 playoffs
The Cleveland Cavaliers faced off against the Boston Celtics during the 2008 Eastern Conference Semifinals. The series went to seven games, with the C’s edging out James and the Cavs.
Palmer recently recalled the series in light of James’ departure from the Los Angeles Lakers.
“I hated LeBron James back in 2008 so much I wanted to skip my graduation from Wharton to stay home, eat wings and watch him lose to the Celtics in Game 7 of the 2008 Eastern Conference Semi-finals.
“As fate would have it, my body would not let me wake up. I slept through graduation and my whole family and my ex-girlfriend were p_____ at me,” Palmer wrote on X.
The Ringer host then explained now he can happily support the Lakers, but James joining the 76ers is still a bittersweet moment for him.
“Anyways, I’m happy to be able to root for the Lakers again without him on my team. I just hate that he’s on my other team [Sixers]. Luka is so much fun,” Palmer added.
For what it’s worth, both the Lakers and the 76ers are off to a perfect start to the regular season. James parting ways with the Purple and Gold seems to have done wonders for both sides.
Instead of enjoying one side, however, fans like Palmer continue to spew hate towards the 4x NBA champion.
