Yeogi Eottae is expanding Yeogi Eottae Black, its curated premium lodging service, to Japan. It is the first time the company has linked its inventory with that of Relux, the Japanese luxury accommodation booking platform it acquired.
The company said on the 16th that it is offering about 350 properties in 17 regions of Japan through the Black service this month, including hotels, resorts and ryokan inns. The lineup covers major cities such as Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka, as well as tourist destinations including Okinawa, Shizuoka and Miyakojima. For one week starting on the 26th, customers booking Japanese Black properties will also receive coupons worth up to 20% off.
Yeogi Eottae Black is a service in which specialists select and present properties themselves. The properties are sorted into three categories: "Luxury," based on the standard of facilities and service; "Unique," for distinctive concepts; and "Local," for properties that draw on the character of their region. Lodging specialists from Yeogi Eottae and Relux vetted the properties jointly.
Japan is one of Yeogi Eottae's main overseas travel markets. Since the company launched its overseas lodging service in 2022, about 500,000 travelers in total have booked stays in Japan through the platform. The company said it plans to use its Japanese branch and Relux's sales network to contract directly with properties and cut out intermediate distribution steps, strengthening its pricing.
"We will start with major cities such as Tokyo and Osaka and gradually widen the curation to smaller cities," said Kang Tae-gu, head of the growth strategy team at Yeogi Eottae.
