How Rhyne Howard, Dream played against Valkyries
Rhyne Howard was a big bright spot on defense despite her offensive woes. This helped the Dream contain the Valkyries attack as they even up the series at one game apiece.
Both teams traded blows in the first half, only seeing Atlanta lead 39-37 at the break. They came alive in the third quarter, taking full control after outscoring Golden State 21-9 and not looking back.
Three players scored in double-digits for Atlanta in the win. Angel Reese led the charge with 30 points, 16 rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and one steal. She shot 10-of-16 overall, including 1-of-1 from downtown, and 9-of-11 from the charity stripe. Allisha Gray came next with 18 points and five rebounds, while Jordan Canada provided 13 points and 10 assists.
The Dream will look to take a 2-1 series lead when they host the Valkyries in Game 3 of the WNBA Finals. That contest commences on Oct. 21 as tip-off starts at 8 p.m. ET.
