Kuwait Eco Warriors will hold its 300th Week Beach Clean-Up Drive on Friday, October 30, at 3:00 pm at Shumaymeh Beach, marking a milestone in the grassroots environmental initiative’s efforts to protect Kuwait’s coastline and promote community participation in environmental conservation.
The initiative, founded in October 2020, has grown from a small volunteer group into a community-driven movement focused on reducing waste and protecting Kuwait’s coastal, desert and public spaces. According to the organization, consecutive weekly actions in clean-up operations, help remove and safely dispose of over 40 tons of plastic waste and marine debris.
Operating under the theme “Cleaner Environment, Stronger Community, Brighter Tomorrows,” the upcoming drive will invite residents, families, young people, schools and corporate organizations to take part in protecting the country’s coastal environment.
Since 2022, Kuwait Eco Warriors has served as the official country partner for World Cleanup Day in Kuwait, connecting local volunteer activities with the global environmental movement and engaging residents in efforts to tackle waste pollution.
The initiative’s work has been supported by partnerships with diplomatic missions, businesses, educational institutions and community organizations. Its partners and supporters include the British Embassy in Kuwait, Emerson, Starbucks, LuLu Exchange, the American School of Kuwait, Dive Earth Team, the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), Telugu Kala Samithi Association, Malayalikal Association and Nepali Yuva Shakthi Association Kuwait.
In recognition of its community service and environmental work, Kuwait Eco Warriors has received the Ahmadiyya Medal, presented by the Governor of Al-Ahmadi Governorate, as well as recognition for excellence from the American Society of Safety Professionals.
Beyond its clean-up activities, the organization promotes environmental awareness among younger generations through dedicated children’s clean-up drives that introduce participants to marine conservation, plastic waste reduction and responsible consumption. It also uses social media campaigns and educational content to encourage sustainable habits across the community.
Kuwait Eco Warriors invites members of the public, families, schools and private-sector organizations to participate in the milestone event at Shumaymeh Beach.
