GEORGE TOWN: All educational institutions in the state will operate as usual tomorrow despite the haze affecting the country.
The Penang Education Department said it would continue monitoring air quality and prioritise the safety, health and well-being of students and education personnel.
"We remain concerned about the safety and health of students amid the deteriorating air quality," it said in a statement.
The department said students attending school are encouraged to wear face masks as a precaution and drink sufficient water to stay hydrated.
It said schools must also ensure an adequate supply of drinking water is available for students and staff.
Parents or guardians concerned about their children's health due to the haze may consider keeping them at home, provided they inform the school administration, it added.
