Barcelona could face an uncomfortable transfer question next summer if Dani Olmo struggles to secure the regular role he wants under Hansi Flick.
According to SPORT, Bayern Munich have made the Spanish international a priority target for next season, with sporting director Max Eberl a major admirer of the midfielder.
A move remains unlikely at this stage, though, as Olmo is deeply attached to Barcelona after working hard to fulfil his ambition of playing for the club’s first team, but his minutes could become an important factor if Bayern turn their interest into a concrete approach.
The Bundesliga champions are already considering possible changes to their attacking options, creating a potential opening for the Barcelona playmaker.
Why Bayern Munich want Dani Olmo?
Bayern’s interest in the Barcelona midfielder is linked to uncertainty surrounding Jamal Musiala and Michael Olise.
According to the aforementioned outlet, the German club recognises that one or both players could leave, forcing them to consider replacements capable of maintaining their attacking quality.

Olmo fits the profile Bayern are assessing, and Eberl’s admiration for the midfielder gives the potential move an additional dimension.
However, Bayern’s interest does not mean a transfer is imminent, as any pursuit would depend on developments within their own squad and Barcelona’s willingness to negotiate.
Olmo’s Barcelona future could depend on Fermin Lopez
Olmo’s attachment to Barcelona is a major reason why an exit is considered difficult.
He had to develop his career in Croatia and Germany before finally reaching the first team at his boyhood club, making the prospect of leaving particularly complicated.
Yet competition for the attacking midfield position could become decisive.

As such, Fermin Lopez is also pushing for minutes in the No. 10 role, leaving Flick with difficult selection decisions as the season progresses, and it is on that very note that Olmo would like greater continuity at Barcelona.
Factors in Olmo’s future
Despite these developments, it is crucial to note that Olmo has not decided to leave, nor does it establish that Barcelona intend to sell him.
Instead, his playing time is a factor to monitor as Bayern consider their options.
For a transfer to happen, two conditions would need to be met: Barcelona would have to be willing to part with the midfielder, and Olmo himself would need to consider a departure.
For now, neither condition is confirmed.
