Prime Minister Netanyahu used today’s deadly attack by Palestinian gunmen to promise an unprecedented security operation in the West Bank, or what he and his supporters prefer to call Judea and Samaria.
Some of his cabinet ministers today said they would like the same military campaign in the West Bank that flattened most of Gaza. Although most Israelis disapprove of settler violence – if Netanyahu’s right wing coalition gets back into power, expect those calls to get louder still.
After two years of war in Gaza and a still unresolved war in Iran, Israel faces an election like no other.
