"Silver fox" Josh Homme and his Queens Of The Stone Age wrapped up their stadium tour with Foo Fighters last month, and their new album Perfecth drops next week. When QOTSA unveiled that record's tracklist, the selection that got the most attention was a little number called "Where The Goth Girls At?," which has since become a single. On Wednesday night, the band performed on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show and asked the world that question.
Do you think Jimmy Fallon knows where the goth girls are at? I feel like the answer is probably no, but perhaps he could surprise us. Maybe Fallon hits New York's hottest goth nights whenever he's not making balloon animals with Alan Ritchson or whatever. Maybe he wears a Phantom Of The Opera mask or corpsepaint so that his fellow goths don't recognize him. Anyway, QOTSA cranked through that song with gnarled efficiency on last night's Tonight Show, and then they announced a tour of America's finest arenas and amphitheaters.
The rest of QOTSA's year includes a show in Iceland, a quick run in Asia, and an Australia/New Zealand tour with Primus and Tropical Fuck Storm, with a Mexican stadium gig with Interpol and a few South American festivals following in March. In May, they'll embark on a North American tour with one big opener, alt-rock elder gods Pixes, and one smaller opener called Wheelchair Sports Camp, which appears to be some kind of experimental rap band from Denver. Below, check out QOTSA's Fallon performance and their tour dates.
