By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Secret Beach on Ambergris Caye is finally getting connected to the national power grid.
Belize Electricity Limited and the Belize Tourism Board have announced a partnership to extend electricity to the popular destination, one of the island’s fastest growing areas.
The two organizations describe the project as a targeted infrastructure expansion that will support sustainable growth and improve daily life for residents, business owners and visitors.
Grid power will allow businesses and restaurants to stay open later, with improved public and commercial lighting making the area safer at night.
It will also allow establishments to move away from expensive and noisy fuel powered generators, lowering operating costs and reducing their environmental impact.
BEL and BTB say they will continue working with community stakeholders and local businesses as implementation begins.
