KUALA LUMPUR: DagangHalal.com, operator of the world’s largest halal-verified business-to-business (B2B) e-marketplace, concluded its participation as Halal Strategic Partner at Food Ingredients (Fi) Asia Indonesia 2026, held from Sept 16 to 18, 2026 at Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), Kemayoran, Jakarta.
Organised by Pamerindo Indonesia and Informa Markets, the 30th edition brought together ingredient suppliers, food and beverage manufacturers, product developers, buyers and industry stakeholders under the theme Elevating Food Standards for a Healthier, Greener Future.
DagangHalal was officially listed by the organiser as the event’s Halal Strategic Partner.
As a halal strategic partner, DagangHalal focused on strengthening halal product visibility, buyer connectivity and digital compliance engagement through its World Halal Supermarket, B2B network and Halal Internal Assurance System (HIAS).
Separately, the local event team curated the ASEAN Halal Showcase, which featured products from Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia within a common regional sourcing area.
The wider exhibition also included a locally managed Halal Clinic, providing companies with information and preliminary guidance on Indonesia’s halal certification process under the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency, or BPJPH.
These features complemented DagangHalal’s role by creating a broader environment for manufacturers, suppliers, and buyers to explore halal products, understand market requirements, and identify regional sourcing opportunities.
The World Halal Supermarket by DagangHalal presented a selection of halal products in a shelf-style setting, allowing visitors, manufacturers and buyers to review participating brands and product categories more directly.
DagangHalal also introduced HIAS, a cloud-based platform designed to centralise halal and food-safety documentation, monitor certificate validity, manage audit activities and corrective actions, and improve traceability across ingredients and production.
Fi Asia Indonesia 2026 was officially opened by Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Industry, Faisol Riza.
The opening programme and exhibition walkabout were also attended by Indonesia’s Agro-Industry at the Ministry of Industry acting director-general Ir Putu Juli Ardika, Indonesian Food and Beverage Producers Association (GAPMMI) chairman Ir Adhi Siswaya Lukman and ASEAN at Informa Markets regional portfolio director Rungphech Chitanuwat.
During the opening-day walkabout, the delegation visited DagangHalal’s exhibition area and viewed products presented through the World Halal Supermarket.
In a statement, DangangHalal said that in halal trade, confidence in a finished product begins with the ingredients, suppliers and production controls behind it.
“Fi Asia Indonesia allowed us to engage the industry at that upstream point, where documentation, traceability and commercial sourcing decisions are made.
“As a halal strategic partner, our contribution focused on product visibility, buyer engagement and digital compliance.
“The World Halal Supermarket gave participating brands greater exposure, while our HIAS engagement helped businesses understand how stronger internal systems can support audit readiness, traceability and cross-border market access.”
The partnership was particularly timely as Indonesia prepares for the next phase of mandatory halal certification from 18 October 2026.
The phase includes specified categories such as imported products, food ingredients, additives and processing aids, increasing the need for manufacturers and exporters to maintain reliable ingredient records, supplier documentation and traceability.
HIAS supports internal compliance management and audit readiness.
It does not issue halal certification or replace the formal role of BPJPH, recognised halal inspection bodies or other authorised certification institutions.
Chitanuwat said Fi Asia Indonesia 2026 marked a significant milestone for the food ingredients industry.
“We witnessed strong growth in exhibitor and visitor participation. Fi Asia continues to play an important role in moving the industry forward, while the expanded programme created valuable opportunities for connection, innovation and business growth across the sector.”
Fi Asia Indonesia 2026 occupied 11 halls and featured more than 700 exhibitors and over 10 country pavilions.
Its programmes included the Innovation Zone and Tour, Sensory Box, Beverage Hub, Halal Coaching, Academic-to-Commercial showcase, technical presentations and industry seminars.
The event was held as Indonesia’s food and beverage industry continued to expand.
According to the country’s Ministry of Industry, the sector grew by 6.77% in the first half of 2026 and contributed 41.86% of non-oil and gas manufacturing gross domestic product.
Following the exhibition, DagangHalal will continue discussions with manufacturers, suppliers and buyers identified during the event, while exploring further opportunities to support halal market access, compliance readiness and digital trade across Indonesia and the wider Asean region.
