The Kansas City Chiefs are 5-0 and remain unbeaten this year after an underwhelming 6-11 season in 2025 that kept them out of the playoffs. Patrick Mahomes is leading an offense that has already won two one-score games: a 33-30 overtime victory over Indianapolis and a 30-27 win at Las Vegas.
Week 7 brings a tough road test against the Seattle Seahawks on NBC. The defending Super Bowl champions are 3-3 and have struggled at quarterback, with Sam Darnold leading the league with seven interceptions following an overtime loss at Denver.
A loss in Seattle would be Kansas City’s first of the season, which Mahomes cannot afford by any means. Ahead of the high-stakes game, Mahomes left a short message for one of his key linemen.
Patrick Mahomes replies to Kingsley Suamataia’s Instagram post
Left guard Kingsley Suamataia, 23, is in his third NFL season. The Chiefs took the BYU product at No. 63 overall in the second round of the 2024 draft.
The 6-foot-4, 326-pounder recently posted snapshots from the Chiefs’ first stretch of the season with the caption, “My Family > 31 Teams
#chiefskingdom.” The bold caption of this post puts the Chiefs’ locker room ahead of the league’s other 31 franchises.
Mahomes later penned his comment under the post, writing, “Yessssir!!!
”
The 31-year-old signal-caller has 1,309 passing yards, nine touchdowns, and three interceptions this season, paired with a 66.5% completion percentage and a 68.3 QBR. In the 22-6 win over the Chargers last week, he went 23-of-30 for 272 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.
Pat is playing under a record-breaking 8-year, $504.75 million contract extension. This contract shatters the historic 10-year, $450 million deal he signed in 2020, raising his average annual salary from $45 million to $63.09 million and securing a whopping $397 million in total guarantees.
To sustain their undefeated run, the Chiefs will lean heavily on wideout Xavier Worthy, who will step into Mahomes’ top target role in Week 7. Worthy successfully anchored the passing game against the Chargers last week, logging an 84% snap share while turning a perfect 7-for-7 target efficiency into 73 yards.
He maintains that primary WR1 status against Seattle with Rashee Rice officially ruled out due to knee and hamstring issues. Young assets like Jalen Royals and Andrew Armstrong will fill out the rotation alongside him, while wideout Tyquan Thornton (ankle) remains sidelined for the next 8–10 weeks.
