Michael Fabian Joseph Doyle, 33, of Dominion, was found guilty in Sydney provincial court of assault with a weapon and breaching his release conditions by violating a no-contact order.
The offences took place between June 2, 2024, and June 2, 2025.
Doyle was acquitted of assault with a weapon (a mop) and assault by suffocation while charges of assault with a weapon (a bowl), leaving a threatening voicemail message, and breaching his release conditions by failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour were dismissed.
The judge credited Doyle with a total of 195 days for the time he has spent in pre-trial custody and sentenced him to one day in jail for each offence, which was deemed served by his presence in court.
He must also serve two years of probation, submit a biological sample to the national DNA registry and is banned from owning or possessing firearms for five years.
Doyle continues to be held in custody after he was recently convicted of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon (a ukulele), assault by strangulation, and three counts of assault involving another female victim.
He is scheduled to be sentenced in Sydney provincial court for those offences on Oct. 27.
