Baltimore Ravens veteran tight end Mark Andrews has had his fair share of tough performances throughout his NFL career. Unfortunately, he had yet another in Week 5.
The Ravens were still able to come out with the 30-23 overtime win against the Atlanta Falcons, but Andrews didn't make things easy. He dropped a pass in the end zone early in the game, lost a fumble later in the first quarter that the Falcons returned for a touchdown, and then dropped another pass on a third down as well as a two-point conversion in the second half of the game.
Ravens offensive coordinator Declan Doyle is not ready to give up on Andrews, though.
“Mark is somebody I feel like is very resilient. Regardless of what’s going on, I don’t feel like what’s happening right now is going to impact the next play,” Doyle said via the team’s website. “I don’t really have an issue going back to him. He embodies what it means to be a Raven, the way he works every day, the way he leads that group. We love Mark, we trust Mark.”

The Ravens must be questioning whether they made the right choice to bring back Andrews last year, though. The team signed him to a three-year, $39.3 million contract extension in December, and ultimately, parted ways with fellow tight end Isaiah Likely, who later joined the New York Giants in free agency.
Through the first five weeks of the season, Andrews has 22 catches for 177 yards and one touchdown, while Likely has 33 catches for 284 yards and four touchdowns.
Luckily, there is still plenty of season left for Andrews to turn things around and prove the Ravens right for choosing him, but that better start sooner rather than later.
Baltimore heads to Cleveland to take on the Browns in Week 6.
