Colombo, Oct. 20 (Daily Mirror) - The no-confidence motion against the Speaker is set to drag on, with Leader of the House Bimal Ratnayake claiming that it contains sub judice matters that cannot be debated in Parliament.
“The motion contains matters pertaining to a court case filed by a parliamentary employee against his dismissal. Apart from that, the motion is more or less slanderous. The motion cannot be debated in its present form,” he said.
He also confirmed that the motion had been referred to the Attorney General for his observations.
