If you're curious about the soothing, relaxing powers of CBD and CBN, but don't fancy taking it via tincture under the tongue, we'd like to introduce you to CBD and CBN gummies.
Available via the plant-based platform River Botanicals, gummies are the easiest way to reap the rewards of CBD and CBN, both of which are designed to help ease you into a restful sleep, with zero morning grogginess.
What are CBD gummies?
Just like chewy candy (but with wellness benefits too, River Botanicals calls gummies a 'supportive treat') the brand's Sleep Gummies, $35 for 30, are available in tasty flavours including Passion Orange Guava, Pink Watermelon, Red Berry, Fuji Apple, and Strawberry Mango – the latter is our favourite.
You only need one gummy for a restful snooze. Just nibble one 45 minutes before bed and prepare to sleep deeply.

What's the difference between CBD and CBN?
Many CBD supplements only contain CBD, so CBN might be an unfamiliar term. Let us explain.
River Botanicals explains CBN (short for cannabinoid) as a federally legal cannabinoid, created from THC (though there is no THC in the gummies, so you will not get 'high' from taking these). CBN is created when THC is exposed to light, heat, and oxygen over time and breaks down.
CBN is known for being 'the sleepy cannabinoid' (hence why it's inside the sleep gummies) and is also considered an adaptogen, which is an ingredient that helps the body process stress, meaning stressful situations might not cause as much upset when you're taking adaptogens.
CBN can create feelings of calm, and can support pain relief, improved mood, and overall feelings of wellbeing.
CBD (short for Cannabidiol) has many of the same reported benefits. It's sourced from the leaves and flowers of the hemp plant and is praised by wellness experts for its soothing powers.
The major difference between the two is that CBD is completely non-psychoactive (non-intoxicating) and does not alter your state of mind, while CBN is mildly psychoactive (around 25% as potent as THC), which creates the sedative effect.
Choosing the best CBD gummy for you
Flavour aside (really, try Strawberry Mango, you won’t regret it), the biggest decision when choosing your gummy is the strength.
River Botanicals' Ultra Sleep Gummies are twice the strength of their Sleep Gummies. Ultra Sleep includes 100mg CBD and 100mg CBN per gummy, compared with 50mg CBD + 50mg CBN in the original Sleep Gummies.
