News broke that 49ers star tight end George Kittle was sick shortly before his team kicked off against the Seahawks on Sunday.
Kittle fought through this illness and played the entire game, adding five catches for 24 yards in their 32-29 win over the defending Super Bowl champions. This feat is made even more impressive after hearing the extent of Kittle’s sickness.
Kittle was caught on camera sharing gruesome details of what he was dealing with in the most recent episode of Claire Kittle and Kristin Juszczyk’s “Wife’d Up, Mic’d Up” podcast.
“I was in the bathroom when we got that touchdown right before the half,” Kittle said to his family, before adding that he pooped and got an IV during that absence.
“Right before we came back out [after halftime], I go to the bathroom. As I stand up, I projectile vomit. I’m standing with my pants around my ankles, I’m like, ‘You’ve got to be f–king kidding me,'” he added.
“I puked on top of the poop. Yeah, it was disgusting. It’s a bad feeling. After that, I projectile-vomited for 10 minutes into a trash can,” Kittle continued.
A few moments later, Kittle looked to his wife, Claire, and said, “I might have to go poop right now. I think I have to go poop.”
Perhaps Kittle didn’t have to get into these disgusting details on camera. Then again, that unfiltered candor is part of why Kittle’s personality is so beloved among 49ers fans.
