The Hungarian midfielder went down off the ball in the first half of Saturday’s Premier League clash in west London, sitting on the pitch looking dejected and receiving treatment before then walking off.
Szoboszlai was replaced by 19-year-old Trey Nyoni, with Liverpool fans now anxiously awaiting another update on the status of their reigning Player of the Season.
Szoboszlai’s return against Brentford was initially a major boost for the Reds after he missed last weekend’s 3-0 defeat by Manchester City at Anfield and the 6-3 thrashing of LASK Linz in the Champions League in Austria on Wednesday night.

The 25-year-old returned from Nations League duty with Hungary carrying a hamstring injury following an overload, initially trying to push through it in training.
No injury had been publicly disclosed by Liverpool in the build-up to the game against Man City, with his eventual absence coming as a major surprise to supporters.
Head coach Andoni Iraola will be hoping that the influential Szoboszlai is not sidelined for long as his side face a hectic autumn fixture list that includes upcoming games against Villarreal, Brighton, Chelsea, Arsenal, Fenerbahce and Crystal Palace before the next international break.
Alexander Isak also returned to Liverpool’s starting XI against Brentford, having missed the games against Man City and LASK with a thigh injury suffered while playing for Sweden last month.
Cody Gakpo was back in the matchday squad as a substitute, having also sat out those games due to an ankle problem sustained on international duty with the Netherlands.
However, Liverpool were missing Ryan Gravenberch as he served a one-game suspension following his controversial sending off for two bookable offences in the emphatic loss to Man City.
Iraola confirmed earlier this week that defender Giovanni Leoni’s return to training following a serious knee injury that has kept him sidelined for more than a year would be delayed by a month until the November international break.
Hugo Ekitike and Conor Bradley also remain long-term absentees, but both players are said to be progressing well.
