Weather warnings as storm Austen approaches Netherlands

The weather office KNMI has issued code yellow warnings for Limburg, Zeeland and South Holland on Friday evening as storm Austen approaches, with gusts of at least 75 kilometres per hour expected.

The southwest and the hills of Limburg will be hit by the wind first, with the rest of the country following in the evening and overnight.

Saturday is expected to bring fewer showers, some sun and a calmer wind, before heavy rain and stronger gusts return in the evening. Very severe wind is possible along the coast.

On Sunday the wind will remain strong throughout the country, particularly in the north, where there will also be showers. The south will get more sun, but temperatures will not rise above 13° over the weekend.
