MELAKA: Barisan Nasional (BN) election machinery in Melaka must set aside any reservations about Pas and work with the party on the ground.
State BN chairman Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said all party machinery should accept the cooperation agreed upon by the parties' leadership and ensure it was reflected in their campaign efforts.
"The decision to cooperate with Pas has been made, and I urge all our machinery to work together with Pas without prejudice," he said after launching the BN election machinery for the Pantai Kundor state constituency here today.
Also present were Pantai Kundor incumbent Datuk Tuminah Kadi and Melaka MCA chairman Datuk Lim Ban Hong.
Rauf, who is also caretaker Melaka chief minister, said the state election would be important in determining the state's direction and gauging the coalition's strength ahead of the next general election.
"Insya-Allah, if we succeed in Melaka, we can make it to Putrajaya. This is also a step towards the general election," he said.
