Investigation into the murder of a 25-year-old gym trainer, Nandan, within the jurisdiction of the Amruthahalli Police Station on Saturday night has intensified, with the preliminary probe pointing to heavy consumption of drugs and alcohol and a violent confrontation during a gym anniversary party.
Nandan was working as a personal gym trainer for Anush Shetty, who had organised an anniversary party at his flat in Kempapura and had invited Nandan and four other trainers from the gym.
According to police sources, those present at the party allegedly consumed drugs and alcohol in large quantities. During a spot inspection, the police reportedly found articles suspected to be linked to drug consumption. Investigators are also examining the circumstances in which the gathering turned violent.
Bite marks found on victim’s body
Several deep bite marks were reportedly found on different parts of Nandan’s body, raising questions about what exactly transpired during the party.
The confrontation allegedly escalated, during which Nandan suffered a severe blow to the head. He was taken to a hospital, where he was declared dead.
The police are also examining the statement given by Anush, in which he reportedly told investigators that he had invited everyone to the party but was unaware of what happened later, as he had gone to sleep in another room.
Anush, Vishwanath and the others who were present at the party have been taken into custody for questioning.
The Amruthahalli police are awaiting the final post-mortem report, which is expected to help establish the exact cause of death and the nature of the injuries. Investigators are also examining forensic evidence and statements of all those present at the party before determining the sequence of events.
